GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO (Mon Oct 22, 2007) — At Andavo we have a strong commitment to social responsibility and we practice what we preach, said Brenda Rivers, president and CEO, Andavo Travel. In managing our vendor selection process, we emphasize diversity in our decision-making strategy to ensure our customers receive impeccable service, from on-site support and exclusive amenities to maximum cost efficiencies.

Rivers has transformed the company from a $15 million agency when she purchased the company in 1988, to the $100 million travel management firm that it is today. Andavo Travel employs more than 100 people throughout the United States and maintains partnerships with hundreds of vendors worldwide.

In recognition of her accomplishments as a successful, female business owner, Rivers has been the recipient of several awards, including: Most Influential CEO in Hospitality and Tourism in North San Francisco Bay; Business Woman of the Year by Ernst & Young; Business Owner of the Year for the Rocky Mountain region by the National Association of Women Business Owners; Outstanding Business Woman of the Year by the Denver Business Journal; Who’s Who in Travel & Tourism by the Denver Business Journal; Woman-Owned Business of the Year by the Colorado Federation of Business and Professional Women; Customer Service and Social Responsibility by Working Woman; and Exceptional Diversity Supplier of the West by the national Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Rivers’ extraordinary corporate leadership is featured in The Transparency Edge, a book authored by Barbara Pagano. She is also profiled in How She Does It, by British author, Margaret Heffernan.

Andavo Travel is nationally certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBENC was created in 1997 to provide WBEs with expanded opportunities to increase their share of the vendor/supplier market both in the private and government sectors.
